Chekiyot Kijhakkeveettill Vineeth also known as CK Vineeth was born on 20th May1988 at Kannur, Kerala.
His early career began at the Chennai Customs and at the Kerala State Electricity Board. He studied in SN college Kannur.
Vineeth’s first club is Chirag United Kerala that played in the I_League during 2011-12 seasons. Vineeth scored 8 goals for Chirag Kerala.
For the 2012-13 season Vineet was signed by United Sports Club. He made debut for the club on 7th October against Air India. He scored one goal in his debut match and later in the season he scored a hat-trick against Air India on 2 Feb 2013. Vineet scored 7 goals in the season which is the highest number by an Indian footballer.
In January 2014 United Sports Club announced its financial difficulties and released Vineeth. And Bengaluru FC, who was a new entrant to I_Leage signed him for the season. Bengaluru FC became I-league champion.
Because of Vineet’s consistent performance Bengaluru Fc extended the contract for 2 more years that kept him at Bengaluru FC till 2016-17 I-league season.
During his days with Bengaluru FC, he won Federation cup, and also I league for the second time in the 3 years.
In 2015 Vineet was signed by Kerala Blasters FC. He couldn’t score even a single goal in 9 appearances he made for the club.
But in 2016 the story was completely different. He missed almost half of the season as he was playing for Bengaluru FC in the AFC cup. In his first appearance, where he came at the 85th minute as a substitute against Goa, scored a goal at the 95th minute that helped Kerala Blasters win the match.
From his 9 appearances, he scored 5 goals, the highest number of goals by an Indian and his gaols played crucial role in helping Kerala reach finals.
In 2017 KBFC signed him for a 2 years contract that would keep him with Kerala Blasters till 2019. I wish him all the best for his matches.
