The France international dot was part of the FC Pune city   in the inaugural season of ISL.Pune City bought him for a whopping price of 4.5 crore rupees considering his history as a striker. The mgt thought DST would bring fortune for the club. But David ST failed to impress the club’s management due to his poor performance. He ended the season with only 9 appearances and 2 goals.

6. Elano Blumer – 4.8 crores – 2015 highest

In 2014 the Abhishek Bachchan and MS Dhoni owned Chennaiyin FC, bought Elano Blumer for 4.8 crores. He had quiet a successful stint with Chennaiyin FC. He finished the 2014 season as the league’s top scorer with 8 goals.

5. Nicolas Anelka

The former Chelsea star Nocolas ANelka was bought byMumbai city FC for 5.4 crores. Mumbaikars expected him to show his premier league skills in the Indian soil. But Anelka bombed all the expectations when he scored just 2 goals in 13 appearances for the FC.

4. Diego Forlan – 2016- 6.6 crores.

In 2016, Diego Forlan was the costliest recruit of ISL. he was paid rs. 6.6 crores for a 3 months deal with Mumbai FC. He was one of the only few players to do justice for their hefty price tag. Forlan was the star of the season by scoring 5 goals in 11appearnces as the club finished at the top of the table.

3. Dimitar Berbatov

In the first three seasons of ISL, KBFC did not spend a lot of money to buy marquee players or any foreign player. Instead, they bought young, local boys and reached finals two times in the 3 seasons. But this year, as ISL trophy qualifies the winners for AFC, they have become more serious and bought Berbatov for 7.5 cr rupees.

2. Robbie Keane —6.6 to 9.2 crores

Robbie Kean, the 37 year old football star from the Republic of Ireland, was bought by Atletico de Kolkata. Till 2016 he was part of the LA galaxy. Considering his age, I feel the deal looks a little pricey. But, I hope he will meet the expectation of the club and his fans.

1.Alessandro Del Piero ——10.8 crores

For the inaugural season, Delhi Dynamos signed the Juventus legend Alesandro Del Piero for 3 months contract for a huge sum of rs10.8 crores. Not only the Delhi fans but all Indian football lovers thought he would show his magic in the Indian soil. But the signing was ended as a disaster . Piero scored just one goal in 10 appearances. He was brought in as a substitute in most matches. After this, Delhi Dynamos stopped going for big signings.
